The Loud and Lovable Skipper Doodle, feeling a little blue

I know this is late, but I did not want to miss another week and I have been walking around trying to find something “blue”. Although taking the pictures of the dog brings upon him high anxiety, he does just sit there and look guilty, or in some cases “blue” as well.

You can’t be serious your entire life, you got to get out and have fun, RECHARGE your batteries. Do something nonsensical even if it’s just on your birthday… but I would say that you do it more often then just once a year!

You could get really philosophical here with this quote, but being successful this is accurate. Can it be done? Thankfully there have been some very diligent people in History have not doubted their actions or what could not be done (at that point in time).

This is such a Back to Basics concept… but if you look deeper into the quote you see the word “weary” which is relative. The world is not the same for anyone of us, even twins have different takes on the world. Sure there are events that cause us to experience those feelings as a society or as a whole, but even those events can be broken down to smaller experiences.

[ed. I am trying hard not to use mathematical (factoring) or scientific (fission) to talk about breaking into smaller units.]

Although this is a good philosophical quote, I think it would be best reworded for Success Sunday to be

“So shines a good deed [to one in their] weary world”

Although released with highly psychedelic under/over tones, there is quite a bit of wisdom toss around here and there. Since September is my birthday month, and I share the year that this film was released, I am going to make each of my Success Sundays a reference from the movie.

So what does the above quote say?

Translated it means: the torch of the mind lights the path to glory

It’s not saying that it would be an easy path, but when we concentrate and focus with our mind, our path is easier to see and we can see further. This is what Napoleon Hill wrote about in the 1937 book, Think and Grow Rich and what also The Secret rehashed and repackaged recently. This is a philosophy that I subscribe to and it’s applicable to every one in every walk of life. Don’t be your own stumbling block, be your own stepping stone.

With the Holiday Weekend, it “feels” like a Sunday. So it’s a virtual Success Sunday-Monday. Of course, it’s Monday and I am listening to College Football. I am going to be so confused.

I was listening to my iPod Running Songs this weekend and this came on and I really listened to the words. It struck home because one of my friends has made a change for the better. How we are IS in our mind and we can change our minds. However, it’s not always easy and often requires help.

So not only do you need to change your mind, but you need to get people to help you network.

I thought that this was most appropriate seeing that we are traveling home from Dallas from the Mary Kay Seminar. Seminar is the annual event which MK Corporate celebrates the achievements of the past MK year (July-June) and motivates for the upcoming year. Mary Kay was created as a company that would appreciate women and their accomplishments. Created 45 years ago, it was the brain child of Mary Kay Ash, an incredibly successful but under appreciated sales person who was tired of seeing men promoted and advance ahead of her (and some she even personally trained) created a company that would have no limit to what a woman could make.

A little “Off the Wall”? Well, yes… what would you expect. I tried to look for something on Tardiness and Late seeing that it’s Monday when I am posting Success Sunday. What I found were some great “Time” quotes and this one is just up my alley. We have our Donuts, our Quantum Mechanics and our large device to propel things at high velocity, what else is there? (Oh, those donuts are Chocolate Creme Filled by the way)This week is going to seem much faster as we go to Dallas for our annual trip to the MK Seminar. Should be exciting as always, but we will be busy!

I recently came across this because I was was playing with my hair and I noticed that it look similar to the Oompa Loompa’s from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factor. So, I took a picture and with a little amateurish photoshoping, I turned myself into an Oompa Loompa.

This is the chorus of the song that the Oompa Loompa’s sing throughout the movie. This is the main theme of the movie, Charlie isn’t greedy at the end and returns the Everlasting Gobstopper when he could have fetched a handsome sum from Slugworth. His reward for his honesty and character is the inheritance of the Wonka Factory in its entirety. By sticking to his character even when he was mad and upset at Willy Wonka (and Uncle Joe was pressuring him to give it to Slugworth as vengence against Wonka), it paid off for him. Being a movie, it paid off immediately, but in our lives doing the right thing doesn’t necessarily pay off and sometimes the rewards we reap aren’t tangible.
