PhotoHunt: Open

It’s been quite a while since I have done the weekly PhotoHunt, which is hosted by a fellow Tennessean… TNChick.

This week’s Theme is “OPEN” and here is my submission for the week:

Photography by Planet3rry
The sky is about to OPEN up and dump the rain

About the photograph:

Taken with STELLA, Canon XT DSLR

I was driving at the time with a huge summer storm getting ready to rain. I was hoping to capture some bolts of lightening since the skies were very active. All I got was a bunch of ominous clouds…

Alien Patterns? Aztecs? Not Quite

These precise patterns carved into the land are being done again. Why? There is a building being built in Washington DC and to make it look like the other building in the Nation’s Capital, they have reopened a quarry outside of Knoxville that has veins of Marble which was mined years ago. We passed by this quarry when we took a ride on the 3 Rivers Rambler train which departs from Volunteer Landing from here in Knoxville, TN.

Heart-To-Heart

The Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation (mkacf.org) supports breast cancer research through a grant program and each year they try to offer more grants or increase the size of the grants so that the smart people can figure out a cure to a disease that affect one of my fave parts of the female anatomy… not only can it tear down a person from the inside out it affects the lives of many, many others. At the last Leadership Conference, Mary Kay Directors were given a heart so that they could put their donation In the Honor of or In the Memory of someone they knew (or didn’t know). Here’s a small section of the Hearts, also, this is just one side and this picture was taken during the middle of Leadership as well.

PhotoHunters: Four

This Week’s Theme: Four

On our last cruise our Muster Station was #4

Moving to a different computer has delayed my Photohunting Submissions. I didn’t think that I would be able to submit this week for “Four” but who knew? There was a picture on my camera of our December Cruise and it just happened to have a Four… SCORE!

Photohunters: Ruin(ed)

Get Hunted

This Week’s Theme: Ruin(ed)

"I wasn't angry until they ruined my life!"

Here is my submission for this week’s theme, it’s definitely been ruined! Or as they say in East Tennessee “Ruin’d” (pronounced like the word “runt” with a softer “t” sound at the end -Don’t Ask Me…) It was FIRST Ruined when we decided to cut a hole in the top. Then we ruined the insides, by scraping them out and tossing them in the compost. We further ruined by cutting patterns in the sides of it. The weather ruined it even more as it sat on our porch for the last 3 weeks or so.

Meet “Jack”, his life was Ruined when we gave him a lobotomy and set him out on Halloween!

Nice Cans!

This picture was taken ON Saturday 11-08 at The Elder’s School Fall Festival. I had Stella out and about taking pictures of the kids (and having Lens Envy, of some of the other cameras out there). I saw these two together and thought they would be PERFECT for the “Together” theme this week.

Photohunters:Blue & Success Sunday

This Week’s Theme: Blue

The Loud and Lovable Skipper Doodle, feeling a little blue

I know this is late, but I did not want to miss another week and I have been walking around trying to find something “blue”. Although taking the pictures of the dog brings upon him high anxiety, he does just sit there and look guilty, or in some cases “blue” as well.

“We learn more by looking for the answer to a question and not finding it than we do from learning the answer itself.”

When we find the answer we stop looking, but continually searching and learning is the way we have to be to grow and flourish.
