Where did last week go

I thought that last week was going to be a little different. I thought that I was going to have time to do things such as the Flying Pig Race Report, State of the Planet3rry Universe, weird and kooky Silly things that kids do and say, Expo 10k Race Report ft, dPeach, and many other award winning blog posts. Instead… nothin’. Well, except for the celebrity video, while although side splitting funny, not to much on the “content” category. So now I write, YET another short post to let people know that I am alive… if you were keeping score at home.

So, shooting for posts this week that might be titled: “Dinner with Peaches, the people not the food”, “Thermodynamics: count the calories”, “Call Columbo, Scooby-Doo or Sherlock Holmes… there’s a mystery leak in the basement”, and “The Elder, a Doctor and a Camera all in the same visit”.

Cobwebs

So what’s been going on around the Planet3rry Universe?

Well, ALOT! If anything has been stimulated in the Stimulus Package, it has most definitely been my workload at my 40hr Job! Since I work in a Research Center that centers on the Construction Industry, the Stimulus Package (Recovery.Gov) aka ARRA (or the AARP Stimulus package as misspoke by a few Government Employees). At my job we track Projects… oh crap, I said to much… CLASSIFIED. Nah, not really, I don’t do anything that “COOL” although the past 2 weeks I have been getting my Uber-Geek Swerve on with some Access Database action. Query UP! I created this database because, the Government Agencies that we work with have their panties in a wad have been somewhat anxious about being able to track their time on these project. Enter: Terry. You need Projects… I got Projects… and they’ll cost you a nickel. A NICKEL!!!! Shhhhhh…

In a normal month, I might get a “Special Request” maybe 2 or 3 times… and it’s something that I can turn around fast… if not faster. Well, when I was getting 2 requests a day for this stuff… I had to say WOAH THERE! And call up the National Office for some assistance on making the tracking Global not Terry-Local. I did try to create the database in OpenOffice Base, but I didn’t have the familiarity with Base as I do Access… not that Access and I are kissing cousins or anything. I’ve plundered through it before. So, now, I have a nice little Access dB that is saving me some time. But that time is being sucked up else where….

ASD Athletes! Although we are very fortunate to have the opportunities that we have gotten… they have been SO close together that My Lovely and Talented Wife has up to her eyeballs in stuff to do. In the past, at work… I could “do my work” very easily, but lately I have been going all day long. This week alone, I have had some form of a meeting everyday… and today was the “Super Happy Fun Computer Migration Meeting”… Think Hello Kitty meets Cujo. My Google Reader was pushing 10,000 in the unread column… now some are “deal sites” but still… I haven’t checked my email in a day or two… and ASD Athletes will have Booth Presence at the EXPO 10k this coming up Saturday… which is a GREAT segue for CRAP.

I have yet to mail the Guess My Time, Win Crap contest for the Flying Pig Marathon! It took me about a week, just to get the prizes in a box to try to mail. I now have to get it addressed and mailed. And since I didn’t have it ready, I wasn’t going to have a contest for this coming up weekend. And I am very excited about the race too! Apart from my Crash and Burn or rather Cramp and Burn at the Knoxville Marathon as a pacer, I am going to pace one of former Virtual Friends turned into a Human (I think) Friend and it’s going to be peachy to pace for him to a 10k PR. Did I say “peachy”… huh, funny, because it’s the Illustrious David Peach from Used to be Mexico but now Florida kinda because I am on the road all the time and eventually go to Africa maybe for Missionary Work. That’s right… we are planning on getting Da. Peach to a PR time of… I forgot… I think it’s around an 8:30 pace.

Given the fact that I FINALLY ran for the first time after the marathon this past Tuesday (Do the math… it’s like 16 DAYS!), I was pleased that for 10 miles, a 9:00minutish pace felt great, so I think unless David doesn’t feel peachy on Saturday morning, we are going for it! And if you remember from past Expo Race Reports, this race I run in Memory of: Hunter Biddle (2004), Bernice Varney (2005) and Robert Tripp (2006)… more on that as time will allow in the future.

Oh! and the Planet3rry Marathon Maniac is going INTERNATIONAL! I WON (again, created goes to My Lovely and Talented Wife for filling the entry form out) a free entry into the Niagra Falls INTERNATIONAL Marathon in October. You start in Buffalo (mmmmm, wings) and you end in… that city in Canada that is 26.2 miles away… it might be proper for me to, uh, get the correct city so that I don’t look like sum stoopid ignorint American whose donts knos the cities of the neighbors up north.

Well, I am going to post this and get back to looking at some POT… because I have been so busy, I have not been able to trade POT at all… and the 20 point rise has been… about 20 points of price action that I have missed.

Inigo Montoya: Offer me money.
Count Rugen: Yes!
Inigo Montoya: Power, too, promise me that.
[He slashes his other cheek]
Count Rugen: All that I have and more. Please…
Inigo Montoya: Offer me anything I ask for.
Count Rugen: Anything you want…
[Rugen knocks Inigo's sword aside and lunges. But Inigo traps his arm and aims his sword at Rugen's stomach]
Inigo Montoya Planet3rry: I want my father Monday back, you son of a bitch!

Scene From Princess Bride as told by Planet3rry as the role of Inigo Montoya and Life in General as Count Rugen

I know that Monday April 13th existed, but I don’t really remember much about it. I was only really coherent for about the last 1 hour of work and from there it was basically just going home for Date Night. And while Date Night did include us being in bed, we were totally asleep. There was no dinner… there was no movie, there was nothing. Next thing I knew it was 5am on Tuesday and I was ready to look at the finances.

So, I am scratching my head wondering what I am going to do and now I have more stuff to do today, that I should have done yesterday and I have to plack it in today… which is filling up fast!

Over the weekend, I did not run at all. I had wanted to make last week, the last tough week of training before I started tapering here in the next few days. Now, I have to cram an extra long run in here somewhere and make do. I think what I will do is something that I did LAST year, but I have forgotten about until now… the 2-Fer! That’s right. I think today, I will do a 5 mile at lunch and then a 10 miler after work. I need the extra time tonight with the many errands I have to run, but I HAVE to get the mileage in! I realized that today that I probably have not trained properly to shoot for a sub-4hr marathon given my training to date. I should look back and see what I have run (hence the need for the Trusty Rusty Running Log) and perhaps a sub 4 isn’t really in the cards (unless the planets are aligned and Mercury isn’t in Retrograde) but a PR might be something that I could touch (take that MC Hammer)… 4:06 or so.

AND… there is a NEW episode of Gravity@1053′ just about finished! I PROMISE! I am starting to catch back up on podcasts, but still way back in last year and I have the compulsion to listen to each one, in order, just ANOTHER reason for some long runs. Also, look for a new feature on Planet3rry.com! I am going to roll that out in the next couple of days or maybe hours… let’s see how motivated I can be.

Inigo Montoya Planet3rry: Is very strange. I have been in the revenge business so long, now that it’s over, I don’t know what to do with the rest of my life.
Westley: Have you ever considered piracy? You’d make a wonderful Dread Pirate Roberts.

Final Daze

“Where are you?”

[With the fear that my already altered routine, would yet be rerouted again]

“Just about to get on Pellissippi…”

[My Spidey-sense telling me that a trip to a certain school]

“The School called, The Elder threw up alot in class. He’s with the nurse. Can you go get him? I don’t know how bad it is but they said it was ‘alot.’”

[Had the call been 10 seconds later, the answer would not have been as easy]

“Yep, See you at the house.”

“Thanks!”

“Come in Houston, this is Planet3rry. I have a change in trajectory. I need coordinate reroute and downloaded to the navigation system”

So, when I got there, he was fine. Probably some post-nasal drip that caused him to gag enough to throw up “alot.” I don’t know, but I brought him back home, and he’ll have to take it easily so that we can, with confidence, send him back to school. He did have a slight fever at the nurse’s but that could be a bodily reaction to hitting the ‘purge the stomach‘ button.

So now I need to worry about whether or not there is a viral presence and should it weild it’s ugly self, will it waylay me. There has been a lack of poop stories on this blog, because there hasn’t been any (of note) for this training cycle. Not like it was last fall when I basically cut my underwear supply in half because I had to leave it as fertilizer somewhere.

And there is this: The Weather Forecast

The Good Thing: Weather here is hard to predict. The Bad Thing: Weather here is hard to predict.

A Picture of the weather

I can’t say that I am all to optimistic about the weather forecast for Sunday. I like that it’s partly cloudy with little chance of rain. But looking at the temperature, that’s a big nose dive. For me, the 50s area is the hardest to dress for during a run. It always seems that just a shred too much clothes and I feel overheated, but one layer too less and I am uncomfortable.

My Awetistic mind has come up with a concept that is already conceived, I am just converting it for marathoning. I’ve had the luxury of having wonderful support crews at many of my marathons (Richmond, Rutledge, Harpeth hills, etc) and so at this race, like in 2006… it’s me and the course (and all the people who I am pacing!). So, I am creating a few “Not Yet Named with a Cool Name” items for the course. I might have to include a pair of gloves in there. I can see it now, some Noob is going to have to get first aid because of frost bite or something. Not on MY watch. We are close enough to the river that if you can’t hack it, you are turning this marathon into a duathlon!

Well, I have some other things to get done. At least being busy has made me “forget” that I am in a taper… madness I tell you! Of course, as soon as Monday rolls around, I will have to be thinking about strategy on “The Pig“… will this MADNESS never end? Oh wait… I signed up for it… my bad. Carry On… Geek Stamp

Flu Universe

I am in some sort of weird Sickness Black Hole. If it’s not one person it’s another. The Elder is having an unexpected 2 week spring break because earlier this week, he went to the doctor and was given a Certificate of Authenticity for flu-like symptoms. Of course, this is after last week’s Sinus and Ear Infection party inside my head. And now it seems that My Lovely and Talented Wife, has temporarily changed her pseudonym here on Planet3rry.com to My Lovely and Talented but Sick Wife. It seems that all the appointments that we had today have been changed for different types of appointments. Oi! When it rains, it flus.

So with sickness and the influx of more work for me at my 40hr Job, it seems that I have had less time to blog and more time to fall behind on reading blogs and such. In fact, without going back and reading my posts, I am not sure WHAT I have talked about. And since none of you go back and reread posts… neither will I. So let me Brain Dump, if you will, some of the things that I have been thinking about or that have been going on.

Running:

After the shock of having to perform 45 minutes better at the Knoxville Marathon, I came to my senses. Where as I was going to try to run 12 miles, because I was panicking that I didn’t have all the long runs run in, I came to my senses. I decided that it would be foolish of me to ONLY have long runs in for the week. What training program mandates that… only the crappy ones. There’s the problem of not having a coach help tell you what you should do, because they are objective. Part of that is a side-effect of the Aspergian mind, where focus is on one thing (not enough long runs) rather than “The Big Picture” (overall training program).

So, putting on a neurotypical hat (at least temporarily) and taking myself personally out of the scenario, I thought… given the situation, what would I tell someone else? What have I told the people that I have coached? How would I advise them?

My conclusion was that it would not be prudent to have another long run, after the long run this past weekend. No matter how fast. It would be better overall to have a Tempo Run, especially since this upcoming weekend is a crucial 18-20miler long run. So, my decision was to have a Tempo Run of 6.6 miles (3 loops at Lakeshore Greenway). Then I had a better idea and I felt smrt. I thought, “Why not run Cherokee Boulevard? It’s full of hills, which I need, I can run it tempo and it’s part of the marathon course. Brilliant!”

So, that’s what I did… I ran Tempo at Cherokee Boulevard, which the “Out” course I ran was miles 4-6.2 of the Knoxville Marathon course. So, despite the fact that I had run this section before many times, it was good practice”. I took the “Back” part of the course into 1/2 mile (~800m) intervals until the very end. At that point I was pretty tired and so I switched to 1/4 mile (~400m) intervals, but I pushed myself to complete the distance.

-:::::INSERT CRAZY MYSTERY VIRUS:::::-

Thankfully, I don’t have anything that has been going around… but, Wednesday we had an unexpected visit to the Doctor’s office for My Lovely and Talented Wife. Tuesday, she wasn’t getting any better and it was time to raise our hands and retreat to the hands of the professionals. So Wednesday, I had a nice day off from work because of it, but the work just kind of shifted around because I was busy the entire day. See, we had TWO appointments that day, already scheduled, so there was changing of schedules and all that fun stuff. In fact, I tag teamed with My Lovely and Talented Wife and went to the dentist on Thursday, instead of May 4th, my originally scheduled time.

And now… we are on The Mend. THANK GOODNESS! But, thanks to some weather pattern, we went from mids 70s to mid 60s to 40s on Thursday, so that probably just means that the cycle is going to repeat. Oh, Mannnnnnnnnnnnnnn.

Crucial 18-20 miler this coming up weekend. I am going to try to map out most of it on the marathon course itself. It won’t be in order, but I do want to try to get some practice on the course and try to remember 2006, when (at that time) Knoxville was the hardest marathon course I had run. Now, it’s definitely the Harpeth Hills Flying Monkey Marathon as the most challenging course that I have run… it has character and class… well, maybe not so much on class, but it definitely has character!

DNS – Strawplains 1/2 Marathon

That’s right folks, I did not even SHOW UP for the race. This Did Not Start is atttibuted to some injuries sustained on Wednesday Night night, the exaterbated with some mild sickness Thursday Night/Friday Morning. The injury that seem to waylay me for ALL of Saturday was some Kidney issues. Given the pain location, duration and the inability for any type of releif from it, My Lovely and Talented Wife diagnosed me some “Kidney Problem N.O.S.”

Putting on my Sherlock Holmes Hat, I sat back in my Chair and THINK. THINK. THINNNNNNNNNNNNNKKK [wait, that's Blue's Clues]. I was still prone on the bed, immobilized in aches. Wednesday Night, I can home and felt pretty bad. Achy all over, chills, fever and so I laid down on the floor. The Younger, seeing my moment of weakness came in at 50mph and pile drived into my back, disguised as happiness for seeing me. This is when the injury to the Kidneys happened. Then, I had some cold like symptoms Wednesday. Thursday, I started out poor and then felt better. Friday, started off with symptoms, but was making sure that nothing icky-like would be able to attach its ameoba badself on me and give me some illness, especially since I had the Strawplains Half marathon on Saturday morning. Except, that Friday afternoon, I wasn’t all that hydrated with everything else going on and then the Thai Food kicked in. Or rather, the broccolli kicked in and I was basically doubled over in pain with my stomach and then my back started hurting. This was my lovely Friday Family Movie Night.

I had little sleep Friday night and then when it came time for Saturday morning. Although my stomach was better… my back was not. No position I could find would help. My Lovely and Talented Wife then diagnosed the Kidney area as the nucleus of the pain and prescribed: No Caffiene, Cranberry Juice, and lots of liquids. Amazingly enough, after drinking the cranberry juice, my back did feel better and I kept drinking fluid. However, I was Down and Out for all of Saturday.

Sunday, I was better… the outer sides were still achy, but everything else seemed intact. I was able to operate at 100% Power but felt rushed because I had to cram the chores that I didn’t get done on Thursday/Friday plus the critical things on Saturday and then the normal Sunday stuff.

And now on Monday… I am still a little sore, less than yesterday. No substancial cold symptoms. If I feel good tomorrow, I might try that running thing again. Maybe. I might wait until Thursday. However, this little “episode” has caused some major damage to my training, more for Knoxville than Cincy. But we Runner-type are resilent, I will find a way to make it work.

90 Years and 1200 Miles

For the sake of National Security parts of this blog post have been CLASSIFIED

Over the past few days, starting sometime in the afternoon of Thursday Past, the Family and I began a trip to Richmond Virginia to attend the 90th Birthday party of my Grandmother, Grandma Higgins, my Step-Dad’s Maternal Parental Unit. As far as I know, so that means, as far as I am telling you… she is the oldest living relative that I have. Well, there might be some In-Laws over in the Phillipines from My Lovely and Talented Wife’s family. You know those Pacific Rim peoples… eating rice and drinking Green Tea and living to 300 years old.

So, let me put in the disclaimer that Grandma Higgins is the oldest living relative (yet to be confirmed) in addition to be the oldest caucasion relative (pretty sure on this one) that is in my family.

The Big 9-0! Just like 38, just comes once a lifetime… but way more cooler than 38. However, when you reach the 90th, you don’t always have the greatest desire to drink shots, or go out Go-Go dancing or anything like that… leave that up to the young whipper-snappers… what’s WRONG with the youth today???

So the party for Gma H. was to have dinner Saturday Night and then Cake and Ice Cream back at her place. All of her Children came to see her, 4 boys, from basically the 4 corners of the US came to attendance, plus some of my Stepdad’s cousins, but for me to figure how they are related to her, would give me a headache. They would be… for me… Great Cousins? well, they are GREAT cousins… and they live in Tennessee, just a few miles to the West of us!

As part of our trip to Virigini, we decided to also head [CLASSIFIED] and to [CLASSIFIED] so that [CLASSIFIED] and [CLASSIFIED] could [CLASSIFIED] with [CLASSIFIED] [CLASSIFIED]. We also wanted to [CLASSIFIED] while we were at [CLASSIFIED] so that [CLASSIFIED] would have no idea that [CLASSIFIED] had [CLASSIFIED] [CLASSIFIED]. During our trip there, we stopped at a food eating establishment and just before we going to order, the power went out. And the power went out for the entire area… NOTHING. The only lights anywhere for as we could see was dark. Even the Golden [CLASSIFIED] of [McCLASSIED] was dark, so being hungry, we kept going, except that was one of the last places to stop before getting to [CLASSIFIED] which was still [CLASSIFIED] miles away. Anyway, we made it [CLASSIFIED] safely. I did take some [CLASSIFIED] but I will have to keep them [CLASSIFIED] until I get the green light from [CLASSIFIED] to un[CLASSIFIED] them. Wow… using [CLASSIFIED] really makes it faster to blog. I should [CLASSIFIED] more [CLASSIFIED] often!

I had wanted to go visit a friend that was in somewhat close proximity to [CLASSIFIED] but I ended up losing my phone while taking some pictures of the kids while outside. So it was a phone hunt to try to find my phone. but as usual, I found my phone in the last place I looked. That put us late leaving to get to Grandma’s Party we had to change our plans completely and ended up having to not see [CLASSIFIED]and [CLASSIFIED] or you can call them [CLASSIFIED] since they are joined at the hip.

We also left late enough that we were going to miss dinner, but we had called our Party ahead of time, so they were going to order and bring food to us. Which they did… and it was awesome. After getting to the hotel, showered, dressed, feed and ready to go, we were made our way down the road to Grandmother’s House… there were a few hills, but no real “woods”.

Not to drag this post out for another day in Draft mode, we had a great time at the party. The Kids were particularly hyper for the most part, but they had fun while they were there. They got to meet all of their Great Uncles, one of the wives… their great-GREAT cousins… and of course, their Great Grandmother who turned 90. Grandma’s party was rockin’ pretty late. It was after 9 or 10 before we left and the kids were on the decline… The next morning, I was going to see some friends who live in Richmond, but given the time for breakfast and packing the van, and visiting, and their schedules… it just didn’t happen. We made our way back to Tennessee late Sunday night and ready to make the best of the week coming up!

Planet of Terry Update

Howdy folks out there surfing the Intertube! I wanted to lay down a summary post of the stuff that has been going on the past few days.

You might have noticed that there is no update on my running goals for 2009. And that would be a true statement… I don’t know exactly what I am running yet, but I am getting closer to knowing. First of all, I realized that after this weekend, I needed a schedule of the Family. Yeah, I KNOW! Doesn’t the world revovle around running desires? No… darn!

My Lovely and Talented Wife sat down and figured out what the schedule for the Higgins household is going to be for at least through May. This is because all the kids are going to be in school. The Elder, The Younger and The Reliable and Resourceful Au Pair will be in school in some shape or form. This accompained with My Lovely and Talented Wife’s busy schedule, lead to the creation of our Spring 2009 Schedule. Once The Elder is out of school for the summer, things will change, again, for now. But now that I know what I will be doing on what days, I can plan my training more efficiently.

I am also waiting to hear if my application for a pacer for the Knoxville Marathon has been accepted. Since there was a formal application, with open ended questions, I figured that there would be enough opportunity to be declined as a pacer as well as being accepted. I can’t imagine that there is a plethera of people waiting to be pacers… unless there is some perks because they are being sponsored (as I believe) by Fleet Feet. I definitely don’t need ‘The Big Box Store’ shoes… I could always sell them on eBay or something. But the fact of the matter is that I am not running this race, if I am not a pacer. I will volunteer. So, if I don’t get accepted, I am not training… so the sooner that I know if I will be a pacer, the sooner I can start training! They are supposed to announce the people by January 15th… race is on March 29th (My Lovely and Talented Wife’s Birthday – and yes, I did get “clearance” first).

I have been taking pictures in the “spirit” of 365 Days… that is you take (and theoretically post) a picture everyday. I have been taking pictures, but they are still on the camera. That is low on the priority list right now… Posting them, that is. Taking pictures is ALWAYS a high priority, just not always feasible.

ASD Athletes, which is my non-profit organization, is slowlyyy coming along. It has been set aside for some higher priority things, but still exists and is still moving forward… I expect that later this week it will start to pick up steam!

Two Zero Zero Niner, Over

The end of 2008 seem to disppear very quickly… I looked at my watch and it said 11:44pm, then just “a moment” later it said 12:03am. WHAT THE! I told the My Lovely and Talented Wife that we had missed New Years. However, one of the clocks in the kitchen said 12:00am, and so be proceeded to partake in our annual New Years Kiss/Photograph to welcome in the new year.

The kids were going to stay up until midnight watching football with Daddy but when the second half of the Peach Bowl (not to be confused with dPeach, avid runner, father, podcaster and religious scholar) came on and LSU was beating the stripes off of the Georia Tech Yellow Jackets, they fell asleep quickly and with the game pretty much decided, I went off to do more important things.

So, it’s 2009 and time to start fresh right? Resolutions? Yes and No. Although I want to start fresh, there is no real reason to need to start on January 1st on new ideas and concepts. Which is a good things, because January 1st has come and gone and I don’t have things listed out. So, if I followed that way of thinking, I am already a failure.

However: “Success is the only Option” – Jennifer Higgins, entrenpuener, mother, wife and all around hot chick

The above quote is the Mantra that My Lovely and Talented Wife is using for her business and quest for her goal of becoming a National Sales Director in Mary Kay. The quote is derived from a quote that was in the movie Apollo 13, n account of the events surrounding the 1970 Apollo 13 mission that did not go as planned. During this mission, the lifes of 3 astronauts were in peril danger in outspace when a device failure caused the initial mission of landing on the moon to be aborted and the safe return of the astronauts became the Main Objective. So I am on the Support Crew for her mission to become an NSD in 2013.

But I am not the only person in the Tribal House to have goals. The Elder and The Younger have recently realized goals of theirs with the arrival of Better Batter Baseball and The Kitchen. They two are starting to have New Goals as The Elder has made Arthur his goal and the The Youger (to my knowledge) doesn’t know yet. They will make posters as they did for the Kitchen and BBBaseball, as a reminder of what they are working toward.

In addition, there is the recent post by Runner Sam, who by the way moved to Guam on December 15th with her family, where she talks about her Yellow Brick Road theme for her goals and dreams.

So this leads me into me getting in the creative mode and figuring out what I want my Goal Poster to look like. I have an old one that seriously needs to be redone, so January 2nd seems like a great time to start! Now, I have to figure out what cool “theme” or motif I am going to use as the basis.

I have commited to taking a picture everyday this year and posting it. Sometimes, it might just be the picture and no details, other times, it may be the start of a post. I know there is an “official” group that does this and I will probably link up some how, but for now, I want to get in the routine of taking pictures everyday, not just when there is an opportunity. I will be posting the pictures here, Facebook, Flickr and Picasa.

Now, I am off to see what my running calender is going to look like for this year…

Nephewistic Inspiration

As I mentioned in my previous post about our Christmas Endeavors at the In-Laws, I played in the Finding Nemo inspired Guitar Hero rock band SHARK BAIT. Now, as a guest, I didn’t get an offical name as we didn’t go to Mt. IWANNAHAUKALOOGIE and I didn’t go through the Ring of FIRE, but in the future, I might request the name Bruce (as a tribute to Monty Python) but would be fine with Crush (as in his 5 min appearance held the Meat and Potatoes of the movie) or Mr. Ray (he IS a Scientist).

So, I was the Guitarist in the group and being pretty clueless and not the lead singer, Will 7.4 was the one that chose most of the playlist songs. It’s kind of funny and eerie that a 7 yo wants to pick songs that I “grew” up listening to.Jesse’s Girl, Living on a Prayer were some songs that he picked. One song that he picked was Ozzy Osbourne’s Crazy Train.

After Ozzy recent return to fame, the younger generation knows him for a bumbling father and husband who talks, but unlike EF Hutton, no one listens because they don’t know what the Hell he is saying. My Generation knows him for the Satan Worshiping, Backwards Lyrics with Subliminal messages, Bat Eatin, Cat shootin Entertainer. But yet, there are some hooks from some of his songs that are instantly recognizable and you Could Name That Tune in 2 notes. I did not know what the name of the song but eventually learned that the HeadBanger’s Anthem was Ironman. However, the song in the playlist for Guitar Hero game that we played was Crazy Train… I was playing on EASY which is 3 buttons (out of 6) and it was HARD to keep up. I am can only imagine what the other levels were like. So, I am getting butchered in this song…. I don’t remeber what my accuracy was, but it wasn’t pretty.

But all is fair, I guess. I chose No Sleep Til Brooklyn by the Beastie Boys and not only did I expose him to a song with some fast tongue twisting lyrics, but I expanded his vocabulary and shrunk his naivitivity. Example:

“Going coast to coast – watching all the girlies shaking”

“Our manager’s crazy – he always smokes dust”

“Plane to hotel – girls on the jock”

“M.C.A.’s in the back because he’s skeezin’ with a whore”

“Autograph pictures and classy hos”

Which FINALLY brings me to the point that if you have any PEPSI POINTS, they expire TODAY 12-31-2008. Since I still had 15 points (or 3 songs left), one of the songs that I got was Ozzy Osbourne’s Crazy Train. I think I might play the song backwards, just for giggles and not to commune with the dead.
