KermitKermit had it right. It’s not easy being green. In fact, it’s damn expensive to try to be kind to Mother Earth. That’s just some F’ed Up Logic. But it’s what business has become. Well, The World Leader in Cheap Crap, Wal-Mart is going to make Green a little easier.

You know those canvas bags that are all the rage like the Livstrong Bracelets? Yeah… me too. I got to Lance-A-Like Bracelets (Pray for Elijah and NMSS) and I have 3 of those Canvas bags (Kroger Edition) in my trunk as well as I use one as a tote bag for my big bulky stuff that won’t fit in my Man Bag.

So, April 19th, Wal-mart is going to give you a chance to drink the Green Kool-aid and become Enviromentally friendly (when you remember to actually BRING the bags into the store):

1 Million Reusable Bag Giveaway on April 19

It's in your hands.

1 Million Reusable Bag Giveaway on April 19

As part of Earth Month 2008, Wal-Mart and Kellogg’s will be partnering to give away one million custom-made reusable shopping bags on Saturday, April 19th at 8AM local time*.

Plastic bags can take as long as 1,000 years to degrade. Wal-Mart sells reusable shopping bags every day made from recycled materials you can use instead, for just $1.

(Here’s the Link to the actually Wal-Mart site, in case this seems to preposterous)

And if you get those plastic bags, they make great shipping material and the are recyclable, most have a #2 on them which is accepted just about everywhere.
