Don’t Hold Back

don’t hold back…
cause you woke up in the mornin, with initiative to move, so why make it harder…
don’t hold back…
if you think about it, so many people do, be cool man, look smarter….
don’t hold back…
and you shouldnt even care, bout those losers in the air, and their crooked stares…
don’t hold back…
cause there’s a party over here, so you might as well be here, where the people care…
don’t hold back…

Tuesday, I was back running after Saturday’s Worldwide Half Marathon and it was a Speed Day

Mile 1: 7:37

the world, is holdin back…
the time has come to…
the world, is holdin back…
the time has come to…
the world, is holdin back…
the time has come to…
galvanize!
c’mon, c’mon c’mon….

Mile 2: 7:15

dont hold back…
if you think about it too much, you may stumble, trip up, fall on your face…
dont hold back…
you think its time you get up, crunch time, like a sit up, come on keep pace…
dont hold back…
put apprehension on the back burner, let it sit, dont even get it lit…
dont hold back…
get involved with the jam, don’t be a prick, hot chick, be a dick….
dont hold back…

Mile 3: 8:25

the world, is holdin back…
the time has come to…
the world, is holdin back…
the time has come to…
the world, is holdin back…
the time has come to…
galvanize!
c’mon, c’mon c’mon….

Mile 4: 8:10

world, the time has come to…
push the button…
world, the time has come to…
push the button…
world, the time has come to…
push the button…
world, my finger, is on the button…
my finger, is on the button…
my finger, is on the button…
push the button…
the time has come to…
galvanize!
the time has come to…
galvanize!
galvanize!
galvanize!

Mile 5: 8:29

At one point during the run, I thought I would be able to make a series attempt at my 8k PR time of 35:49 (1999) but there was too much traffic and I didn’t have the stamina to last that long.

Wednesday’s run was planned to be an easy workout and it did feel like a tempo run, but the pace would suggest otherwide. I had a nice 8:49 pace average for my 4 mile run. This was despite the fact that I had at least 5 different spots on me that were sore from yesterday. My left achilles felt tight, just above my Left IT Band – maybe more on the muscle was sore, my left upper quad was sore, my right quad was sore and I have a low-key blister from Tuesday’s shoes. Despite the little things here and there, having my “easy” pace lower down to sub-9 minute miles is pretty cool, but there’s more to that for another post.
