Bagasm
August 8, 2007
I have admitted to having some sort of Bag Fetish, in that when I see a bag… I must go look at it, imagine what I could put in it and try to justify purchasing the bag. Most women experience this phenomenon with shoes.
After all MyCokeRewards point collection was first initiated because of a bag they were offering. Of course, the prize that I am going after right now is a different type of bag… a person bag (read: sleeping bag).
About a month ago, I inadvertently posted an email that was suppose to go to my email account with two different bags that I have been eyeing over. Michael posted a comment saying that I should look here at these bags. Well, I have every intention of doing that but didn’t until today.
Ohhhh yeah! There are some kicking bags in there. Most look like a military-esque style but these are Smart Bags. Unlike the normal JanSport or other conventional bags, you can actually accessorize these bags (ref: women and shoes).
I’d ordered a catalog for me to look at all the pretty pictures (move over Victoria’s Secret) and see what combination that I want to get. Of course, like shoes, with functionality (shoes: comfort) comes a higher price tag… but would be worth it, if it’s the right bag.

I know all about bagasm, shoegasm, makeupgasm, well let’s just say if it has a price tag, I’m all over it. I just dropped a load at the craft store on stuff for xmas present projects. And another $100 at runningwarehouse for *hangs head in shame* new shoes and a fuel belt.
Oh but I digress….
LOVE the maxpedition bags. What fun! I need to send this site to Andy. You’re right…if it’s the “right” bag, it’s worth it. And these look pretty durable and usable for a good while. Do share your wares!

Oh man, oh man – bagism is big with me.. I can SO relate. The ones that do it for me are a tad more, shall we say, female than the ones that you are drooling over but nonetheless I share your passion. Let us know what you’ve decided upon. I’m still savouring my holiday purchase of a lovely Marc Jacobs bag. It doesn’t accessorise with running shoes but hey .. just an excuse to get some new shoes..

My name is Michael, and I am a bag addict…
I have the same issue Terry, you are not alone! I have more “man bags” than most women have purses!

No, no Samantha, let’s not get our priorities wrong. Spending money on running shoes is as important as eating breakfast. It is a very necessary part of life. Some people can get by without it for a time, but eventually we all have to buy them.
Pick that head up!

Oh D…I should explain! The head hanging shameful feeling comes NOT from spending on running gear but on not doing it sooner. I’m on the disabled list for a few days thanks to running in shoes that had just a few too many miles. Oh well, they’ll be here friday and I can fondle and admire them in all their glorious teal-ness and make sure the fuel belt fits just right and what all I can squeeze in the pouches so that when I can run again, I’m ready…and in cute style!

Of course I just bought a pair of shoes in May, then in June dropped over $100 for a second pair just because they were there and I had money. At least I am set for a year on shoes now.
