Where did the week go?

I have miss placed a week… It was right there on Saturday and now it’s Friday again. Thankfully I remembered that it was trash AND recyclable day.

My blogging has out paced my running this week and you all know how little that I have blogged this week. Unless, by some unforeseen miracle, it will be 7 days or more since I have run since the Calhoun’s race last weekend. I even have some more bad news in terms of running as well, details pending wait the next of kin.

I guess out of all the weeks to miss running, this week has been the best. With the family being sick and having to take care of them, I have missed all my lunchtime runs. Plus the weather has been the worst this week, with a HUGE BLIZZARD that turned into a slushy bust or the cold weather forecast for the next few days, it just lends to not putting on the cold weather gear and getting out the door. Perhaps, if it had been real snow, then it would be a different story, or if this wasn’t the first real week of cold, I could stand the chilly weather outside.

Next week should be a better week for me to get some miles in… I just know it. I don’t want to just “wing it” for the half marathon on the 17th. I’ve done it in the past, so I will probably do it again…

One of the days this week that I was out was because of my smei-annual dentist appointment. For one of two times in the year, I try not to brush my teeth with Cadbury Toothpaste the night before and also break out the flosser to precut my gums so that when the hygenist is flossing my teeth, I’ll be bleeding nice a heavily. Actually, I shouldn’t really mock my dentist appointments… probably the strongest/healthy part of my body is my teeth (it sure ain’t my biceps). My Chompers have passed countless number of tests of poking and proding but yet to have a cavity. Even the fact that I eat sweets like it’s going out of style (which it isn’t and if it was it would be in style in 20 years… Hello 80s!) doesn’t give mister cavity a place to pitch a tent and make a home.

I would love to say that it’s my dental hygeine… but it’s not. I mean, I do brush my teeth more often then I take care of my body hygeine and take a shower (which generally is concurrent with my running… you do the math). But I have a lackluster approach to brushing. I do have one of those fancy-dancy electric toothbrushes that basically does all the work for you, you just stand there. I don’t mind flossing either, I have one of those prewired flossers (dentist gave me one) that’s lock and loaded with just the right amount of floss. I can kick that out in like 20 seconds, with little bleeding. I should make a (Chinese) New Year resolution to brush more diligently. Just for the record, I did brush but not floss this morning. Hey, where are the mini-eggs?

My new computer (to me) at work is up and running. And it’s a fast one… Instead of running a 600Mhz cpu, I am now at 3.0GHz and my 383MB of ram has been upgraded to 1.0GB. I can even while typing this blog entry that my computer is faster… yeah! Oh, so now I don’t have a reason to complain about not working… Curses! Foiled Again!

What else can I ramble about? Oh, I have started editing the audio to my next podcast episode…

Well, that’s it until I can think of some more stuff or download some pictures.
