I have a few aches and pains in my knees and ankles. This from my sudden burst of speed and my blatent disregard for the 10% Rule. The 10% Rules, states (more or less):
Thou shalt not run more than 10% of your total miles at a foot speed deemed “fast” or will face the consequences.
Those “consequences” can be summed up as aches/pains and injuries. I am clearly not injured… everything is intact as it should be… but I am feeling some aches in my knees, ankles and feet.
So I thought it would be good to do some easy running today. I took Darrell advice, or rather comment and decided to make a couple cloverleaf routes that I could run to change things up. I figured that I would want to run around 3 miles and a good easy pace.
I definitely went with a new route, but I did follow some of my other courses, as it is threatening to rain. Here’s the route http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=501097
Yeah, see the jokes on me. If you missed Michael’s comment about me mocking the NW weather… I am getting what i deserve. While he has all sunny shiny happy faces in his forecast. I have green on the radar scan AND all I see is gray clouds outside… The Universe has an attitude!
It never rained more than a few drops and it stayed nice and comfortable during my run. I caught myself running fast a couple of times and proceed to scold myself and SLOW DOWN.
I ran considerably slower and after mapping the route I went 3.25 miles in 30:30 which makes it a 9:24 min pace.
I am in need of a haircut, both on my head and my face. If I had a working digital camera at my disposal, I would take pictures for you. I am almost wondering if I could use this facial hair for halloween… I dunno.
