A move and a swim

I have be contemplating more on making a jump from Livejournal to my own domain name using WordPress and I am leaning in that direction. I would miss the voicepost, but I could still post (I am pretty sure via my mobile phone. I'd still have an RSS feed, so essentially everything would stay the same for all practical purposes. I am not sure what I would do with all my back posts and comments. I think there is a way to import them from LJ to WP but I dunno. Of course that would be work… and it would be hard…

As for today, with the impending wet weather coming shortly after lunchtime, I decided to go swimming instead of running. One, I would already be wet if the rain came down… Two, I would e much closer to the Aquatic Center than if I still had to run a mile in the rain. The only drawback was that since it was overcast, there were no sun goers out there and so I could focus on my swimming. Which IS the reason why I was out there. So… off I swam.

And it was a good swim too. I ended up going 18 laps (short course) for a total of 822 meters. Again… no watchy no timey… But I timed one lap with a lap counter they had out there which just cycles through 0-60 and a lap up and back was 42 second… so if you do the recreational math… that makes 411 meters at 6:18. Of course, I could never keep that pace for the entire distance. And really, I should be estimating what my 800 meter time will be since that is the swim distance of the Tellico Triathlon.

It should be a decent weekend. I may try to exercise sometime on Sunday and perhaps will try to lift weights if at all possible. I have Habitat for Humanity this weekend. And if you believe that Pig can fly, Sunday is the Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati, OH.

About planet3rry

I'm a husband, father and runner in the Knoxville area. I love the way that running makes me feel and how it has changed my thinking. I am always looking for the new PR whether in the 5k or the marathon
