Benefits

Yesterday I compiled all the Explaination of Benefits (EOB) from our health provider along with the prescription receipts so that I can submit my clain form for my Flex account. Plus I'll know what medical expenses weren't covered for taxes and all that crap. I also tallied up what the actual cost of each procedure/visit/medication before any type of insurance benefit. In 2005, we were charged over $17,000 of medical expenses. Of course a large chunk, maybe half was Ryan's birth in June. When all was said and done we paid out of our pocket somewhere between $2500 in bills & premiums.

This is pretty scary when you think about those that don't have health care, or have crappy health care. Private healthcare insurance still would have been much more than $2500 because I pay into the health insurance here at work.
