Monday

I was not looking for a whole lot in today's run. It was a recovery run from yesterday's shortened long run. And by the cold and windy weather, I didn't mind one bit!

You would be proud of me… I left the office, then checked my bag to find out I didn't have a towel. Went back and got one… disaster avoided! Woo-Hoo. I was supposed to meet Marty at the infamous “Olympic Benches” at 12:10 and being that UT is hosting the SEC swimming and diving championships, I had to go across the way to the TRECS building to change. I made it out at 12:13 and no Party Marty. I waited until 12:16 and then took off around the aquatic center in hopes that I would meet up with him where ever he was parking.

Sure enough, he had just arrived. It was now 12:20 and I figured that if we ran to the train tracks and back, that would be around 2.2-2.3ish and that would be enough for today. I had wished I had brought an extra cotton LS shirt… but that's something else.

Marty and I ran at an eays pace discussing some of the weekend past and then Strawplains forth coming. We'd like to tack on 5 before and 2 miles afterward to get up to 20 miles (okay 20.1 for those who pay attention!). I doubt that I can do the 2 miles afterwards with him, but I need to plan to do the 5 before the race. we'll probably go out hot on the half-marathon and see where it takes us. We'll have a good gage at our stamina at this stage in the game.

After mapping our route, we 2.4 miles at a 8:53 pace (and that includes Lake Loudon Hill)

Tomorrow is going to be a rest day because of the SEC championships. So I need to figure out what I will do at lunchtime.
