Friday

Today is a rest in preparations for the Strawplains Half marathon tomorrow morning. However, the weather forecast is LESS than favorable from 3am Saturday until Midnight! *SIGH*

Marty and I are planning on getting to the race site about 3 hours early because I have to work as a Volunteer (Go Vols!) from 7-8:45 and we want to get 5 miles under our belts before the race. So, I have to get up early early so that I can pick Marty up and we can go run, in the darkness, on semi-unfamiliar roads in crappy weather to get our miles in. Nobody can say that runners are not dedicated.

Eric had an eye appointment today because his right eye is “lazy” and the pediatrician wanted a specialist to see it to see what the cause might be. So, after 2 hours at the doctor's we have eye drops that we have to give Eric before bed. On Monday we will go back and he will run some tests to see what the deal is with his eyes. So more on that on Monday.

Okay, from my post yesterday one of the topic that I said I would talk about was Displaced Artists. When we had the kids christmas picture taken at Picture People here in Knoxville, we met a woman named Megan. Jen stayed in touch with Megan and in January she agreed to hold a skin care class with some of her friends from her apartments. Megan's guests at the class were New Orleans evacuees who have been displaced here in Knoxville. Now, you HAVE to check out their artwork! It's very unique and very cool!

I am having MP3 player problems. I am looking for a player that has Line-In recording, a resume feature to listen to long podcasts without have to scroll to where you left off, flash memory and I have bought a PNY Vibe MP3 player and a Lyra RD2312, both of which do fine except for the Line-In recording. Neither one will record from an unpowered microphone. Steve, the creator of Phedippidations, uses an older model iRiver-FP895 for his recording and I think that I am going to have to break down and buy at least one of those models. But now I have a few MP3 players to sell. Anyone interested in an MP3 player? If not, I'll have to eBay them.
