For those of you who are not seasoned marathoners, tomorrow the starting gun will fo off for one of the top ten marathons. That marathon is the ING New York City Marathon or just
New York to marathoners.
NYC is difficult, but not impossible to get into, unlike Boston, where for some legitimate entry is near impossible (like for me example). You can either be part of the NYC running scene and get entry a couple of ways or use the lottery system, if you can't qualify outright. If you apply using the lottery and don't get in for 3 consecutive years, you get the next year. I am tempted to apply, just to start the process.
Runners World is offering 4 Podcasts about the marathon on their websites. The podcasts are sponsored by ASICS and hold a wealth of knowledge on running a marathon as well as some specifics for NYC. If you've run at least 1 marathon, it's a good reference. If you have never run a marathon, are training for your first or may run one in the future then I would capture the pods to listen to close to race day. It's good stuff.
I'll probably be running today, but with the UT game fast approaching, I am not sure when that will take place
