Weekend Update

The April left like a lion and May came in as a lamb. The weather pretty much stunk on Saturday. It was rainy for the entire morning after subsiding thunderstorms.

Saturday was the last day for Jen's goal for her unit to reach Honor Society. This is a prestigious goal for a Mary Kay unit to reach within their first year. To qualify you have to have 50 members plus meet a unit-wide production. We started Saturday with needing approximately six people. The day was pretty normal, other than the weather.

Jen had a facial scheduled in the early afternoon and was supposed to come home right afterward the facial. She left right around 1 or so just in time for Eric to take a nap. I took advantage to run on the treadmill, thinking I would get in around 5 miles. I ended up only going 2 because I could never get a good enough rhythm going to sustain running that long. Jen finally got home well in the afternoon… but she had a new unit member. Knowing that she was going to have a wild and crazy night, I decided to go ahead and make some dinner for her. Steak, Spinach and potatoes were on the menu, nothing fancy but it was something. Can't do a lot of phone talking with an empty stomach.

We are pretty such that we made it Honor Society… but no official word yet.

I ran 9.6 miles on Sunday morning with Marty and one of his running buddy Lawschool Jeff. We went out 45 minutes and then back in just about the same split time. The whole run kicked my butt. It was all that I could do to stay focused and keep my legs moving. I knew that my legs were going to be SAH-ORE later, if I survived. This whole run was done before 9am… a good way to start the day.

We made it to church and then back home where shortly after lunch the whole Higgins household was taking an afternoon nap. We essentially slept the entire gorgeous day away, but it was much need rest. I ended up tutoring that night for just under 4 hrs, got to love Physics. One of my tutorees is having her exam Tuesday, the other Wednesday. Then I will be done for the semester (and summer too).

Miles for April = 24.6
Miles for May = 9.6
Miles for 2005 = 168.6
