Snow

So far UT has been closed one and half times this semester because of snow. On Wednesday night we got about 6 inches or so of the white stuff here in the Knoxville area. In addition to the snow, there has been a jet stream that has been pushing artic air way down south, even as far as Florida. This means that it has been bone-chillin’ cold. Of course, this is nothing for the northerners who are used to the cold over the winter, but Knoxville gets pretty mild winters with only one week that it is very cold (~20F). Skip doesn’t like the snow very much but we captured some of his play time on the video camera.

New Semester

This is the second week of classes and the work is being piled on from both the classes that I am attending and the ones that I am a teaching assistant . I have two classes that I am a teaching assistant for this semester. One is the class that I TAed for last semester, the Introduction to Statistics for engineers and the other class is the Introduction to Statistics for Business Majors. The classes that I am a student for are listed below. The theory class is an extension of last semesters theory class, while the regression class is a full semester about regression. My Design of Experiment class is a full load by itself, I have a mid week assignment that is given on Tuesday and is Due on Thursday, plus a Homework assignment that is given on Thursday and due the next Tuesday, so it is a ton of work, but I hope to get a lot out of the class.

I have to call Devaney because he should of had his qualifying flying exam to get his personal pilot’s license. I’ll keep you posted. Hmmm… I think I will go have lunch now…

School and Marathoning

01/05/2003
We got back from our whirlwind tour. It was a long drive back, but it was safe nonetheless. The only problem was the sun being so shining that it made it a little difficult to drive.

I have done a ton of stuff to the website. I have changed the menu bar (if you haven’t been here in a while, then a menu bar is completely new!). I am trying to make the website easier for me to edit, as I found out doing the editing for this version, that I was a bit unorganized. So hopefully, no global changes to my website for a while.

School starts on the 13th, so I need to get a bunch of errands done before I have to jump with both feet into school. I don’t know how this whole daddy thing is going to work with school, but I will figure it out.

I think that I will start training for the Virginia Creeper Marathon at the end of March. It is close enough that I could make a day trip out of it, if I have to. The nice thing about it is that it is CLOSE and CHEAP, of course entries are limited to only 100 runners, so timing is of the utmost importance.
